Tobey Maguire: “When I heard it was Andrew who was going to play Spider-Man, I was literally like, ‘fucking perfect!’” I just want it to be great, and I thought, what a great actor Andrew is, I’m glad that’s what’s happening here.”

Andrew Garfield: “I love Tobey’s interpretation of Spider-Man. It’s one of the things that rekindled my love for the character and reminded me of how much this character means to me. When I watched that first Spider-Man film, I lost my mind. I respect him so much, as an actor generally, and especially what he did with the role that I’m now assuming.”

What were you guys like in school? 

“I’ve been a fan of Spider-Man since I was three years old. I needed Spidey when I was a kid and he gave me hope. He made me, Andrew, braver. Spider-Man has saved lives, and he saved my life.” - Andrew Garfield
